Ovie Omo-Agege Dumps APC

Ovie Omo Agege

Former Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress, citing recent political developments within the party in Delta State.

In his resignation letter made public on Wednesday, Omo-Agege said his decision followed consultations with political associates, supporters and other stakeholders across Delta Central.

The former lawmaker stated that remaining in the APC would no longer allow him to effectively pursue the political interests of his constituents and supporters. He noted that his goals for Delta Central, Delta State and Nigeria could be better achieved outside the ruling party.

“I will not remain a sitting duck in a party where I cannot advance the interests of Delta Central, Delta State and Nigeria,” he said in the statement.

Omo-Agege also expressed appreciation to the APC for the opportunity to serve as Deputy President of the 9th Senate under the platform of the party.

He added that his priority remains the delivery of development and quality representation for the people of Delta Central and the country, stressing that he would continue to pursue those objectives outside the APC.
