VP Shettima Pays Tribute to Tony Elumelu’s Father-in-Law in Delta
Vice President Kashim Shettima on Saturday led a Federal Government delegation to the funeral of the late Sir Israel Chinwuba Ogbue, father-in-law of Tony Elumelu, held in Onicha-Olona. He said the occasion was a solemn moment to honour a life defined by service, values, and quiet influence.
Delivering condolences on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Shettima extended sympathy to the bereaved family, the community, and the people and government of Delta State, noting that the deceased left behind a legacy worthy of reflection and respect.
He observed that what endures most is not status but the impact one leaves behind, adding that Pa Ogbue lived purposefully and contributed meaningfully to the lives he touched.
The Vice President also acknowledged his reported influence in the development of United Bank for Africa, describing him as a man known for calmness, wisdom, and values rooted in moderation, peace, and contentment.
