Warri Youth Coalition Endorses Lawuru, Moves to Fund APC Nomination Form
A coalition of youths from Warri North, Warri South and Warri South-West Local Government Areas of Delta State has endorsed High Chief Promise Lawuru as its sole candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives election.
The group, drawn from Itsekiri, Ijaw, Urhobo and non-indigene communities, announced the decision at a press conference, describing Lawuru as a unifying figure with the capacity to represent the Warri Federal Constituency.
Spokesman of the coalition, Prince Nosa Temisan Owie, said the youths were committed to ensuring Lawuru’s emergence, revealing that funds had already been mobilised to purchase the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination form.
“We hereby endorse Chief Promise Lawuru as our sole candidate. We have the money ready and will purchase the form once the window opens,” he said.
Also speaking, Moses Aguda, representing non-indigenes, said the endorsement was based on Lawuru’s track record and ability to bridge ethnic divides.
“We see politics beyond tribal sentiments. We believe he will deliver effective representation,” he stated.
Youth leaders from the Itsekiri, Urhobo and Ijaw ethnic groups—Hon. Gbite Victor Osanweren, Hon. Eburu Kelly and Mr. Pake Apataimini—also backed the move, describing it as a “youth-for-youth” agenda aimed at strengthening representation.
