Delta Police Arrest Two More Suspects Over Ughelli Murder

Two additional suspects have been arrested by operatives of the Delta State Police Command in connection with the killing of 31-year-old Alex Adanike in Ughelli, Delta State.

The arrests followed coordinated raids on criminal hideouts carried out by officers under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi. Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks operating across the state.

Police said the killing occurred on January 20, 2026, in Agbarha-Otor community when suspected members of the Supreme Vikings Confraternity, also known as Aro Bagger, allegedly attacked Adanike after mistaking him for his twin brother, Okpako Adanike. Two suspects, Warri Ochuko and Lucky Okohwoake, were earlier taken into custody during the initial phase of the investigation.

Further intelligence-led operations led to the arrest of Tega Michael, 26, from the Omutu area of Ughelli, and Tena Sagbene, 32, of Oseri Street, Ughelli. Police said the four suspects have been arraigned before the Ughelli High Court on March 31, 2026, and remanded in prison custody as investigations and efforts to curb cult-related crimes in the state continue.
