I Haven’t Decided on Delta South Senate Race- Edema

Prince Collins Oritsetimeyin Edema has said he has not taken any decision to contest the Delta South Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections despite growing calls from supporters urging him to run.

In an official response to the call by supporters, Edema thanked the group, Itsekiri Youths for Good Governance, and other backers across Delta South for the confidence reposed in him. He said the show of support reflects the strong bond with the people and their shared hope for improved leadership in the senatorial district.

Edema stated that his immediate focus remains his assignment as the Sole Representative of the Olu of Warri to NNPCL and its Joint Venture partners, a responsibility given to him by the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III. He stressed that the role demands his full attention and commitment to ensure tangible benefits for the people.

He added that his political camp is presently mobilising support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in 2027, noting that continuity in leadership is essential for sustained development.

While acknowledging dissatisfaction with the current representation of Warri Federal Constituency, Edema said consultations are ongoing to identify credible individuals who can better represent the interests of the people in the House of Representatives. He assured supporters that when a decision is eventually reached on his political future, the public will be informed directly.
