Oborevwori Targets Relief for Riverine Communities, Boosts Access, Power
Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has pledged sustained interventions to improve the living conditions of rural and riverine communities, with renewed focus on road access and electricity supply.
The governor made the commitment while inaugurating the 31-kilometre Ohoror–Bomadi Road, saying the project would ease movement, cut transport costs and open up economic opportunities for residents in previously hard-to-reach areas.
He noted that beyond road infrastructure, his administration was reconnecting long-neglected communities to electricity through the installation of transformers and extension of power lines, ending years of darkness in some areas.
Community leaders described the road as a long-awaited relief, saying it would improve livelihoods, enhance access to markets and services, and reduce the hardship faced by riverine dwellers.
