Dafinone Hails Oborevwori Over Double Governor of the Year Honours

Senator Ede Dafinone has extended congratulations to Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, following his emergence as ‘Governor of the Year 2025’ by New Telegraph Newspapers and LEADERSHIP Newspapers. The lawmaker, who represents Delta Central Senatorial District, said the double honour reflects the growing national recognition of developments in the state.

Dafinone pointed to ongoing infrastructure projects across Delta, noting that road expansions, major bridges and urban renewal efforts have significantly altered the state’s landscape. He said the administration’s development drive has accelerated economic activity and improved connectivity in both urban and rural communities.

The senator also highlighted what he called the governor’s inclusive style of leadership, adding that social intervention programmes and grassroots-focused policies have brought governance closer to the people. According to him, residents in marketplaces and riverine areas are increasingly feeling the impact of government initiatives.

Reaffirming the backing of Delta Central constituents, Dafinone stated that the awards serve as encouragement to sustain the pace of development. He added that continued collaboration between the executive and legislative arms would further strengthen the “Advancing Delta” vision and secure long-term prosperity for the state.
