Delta Govt Confirms Construction Has Officially Started on Uromi Flyover

Persistent traffic congestion at Uromi Junction in Agbor may soon ease as construction of a flyover bridge has officially commenced at the busy intersection. Heavy construction equipment has been mobilised to the site, marking the start of work on the long-awaited project.

The junction, which serves as a major link connecting several parts of the country, has in recent times experienced severe gridlock, making vehicular movement difficult for motorists and commuters. The flyover is expected to improve traffic flow, enhance safety, and support economic activities within Agbor and its surrounding communities.

The project is being handled by Julius Berger Nigeria PLC as part of the Delta State Government’s broader infrastructure development agenda. The Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, said the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori remains committed to delivering projects that promote economic growth and urban development.

He expressed confidence in the contractor’s ability to deliver the flyover within a reasonable timeframe and to high construction standards. Residents were urged to cooperate with workers on site and help safeguard construction materials and equipment to ensure the project is completed on schedule.
