Landlord Killed in Delta Over N1,500 Electricity Dispute

A landlord, Mr. Lucky Obaze, was allegedly stabbed to death by his tenant in Boji-Boji Owa, Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State, following a disagreement over a N1,500 electricity bill.

The Delta State Police Command confirmed the incident through its Public Relations Officer, Mr. Bright Edafe, who said two suspects were involved and have fled. He noted that investigations were ongoing but gave no further details.

Sources said the dispute began when Obaze went to collect the electricity bill from the tenant, who shared a one-room apartment in the compound with his brother. The argument reportedly escalated before the landlord returned to his upstairs apartment.

Moments later, the tenant allegedly came back with a knife and stabbed Obaze, who died from the injuries sustained.
