Senator Dafinone Donates Bus to Delta Polytechnic, Promises More Support

Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone has donated an 18-seater bus to the Students’ Union Government of Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara, stating that it is only the first step in his continued support for the institution.

The bus, requested by a former union leader, was handed over during a visit that evolved into a wider discussion on leadership, education, and federal collaboration.

The Rector of the institution, Professor Emmanuel Ufuophu-Biri, said the visit was historic, adding that it was the first time a serving senator had entered his office. He commended Dafinone’s humility and the Dafinone family’s legacy in education and accountancy.

Dafinone promised to boost the polytechnic’s federal support, citing its existing TETFund projects as a sign of growing attention from Abuja.

He encouraged students to combine academic learning with entrepreneurship.

As part of the campus tour, the Rector presented several innovations developed at the institution, including a fuel-free wireless generator, which he attributed to a strong culture of unity and collaboration.

Dafinone was also invited to attend the convocation ceremony on 31 May, where Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is expected to commission a new administrative building.
