Delta Commissioner Launches 2025 Bursary Scheme for Ughelli Students

Delta State’s Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Reuben Izeze, has announced the launch of the 2025 bursary scheme aimed at supporting students from the Ughievwen Kingdom in Ughelli South Local Government Area.

The initiative will provide financial support to 220 students an increase of 10% compared to the previous year. The scheme is designed to ease the financial burden of higher education for eligible indigenes of the kingdom.

Speaking on behalf of the Commissioner, the Secretary of the Izeze Bursary Board, Tisha Matthew, confirmed that the bursary remains a cornerstone of Comrade Izeze’s efforts to promote education within the community.

He added that the bursary is open to Ughievwen indigenes currently enrolled in Nigerian tertiary institutions, stating that applicants must be in their second year of study (200 level or ND II and above) and maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.5.

Parents and guardians have been urged to inform eligible students both within and outside the state.
