Fubara Not Summoned for Inquiry, Rivers Govt Clarifies

The Rivers State Government has denied reports circulating on social media alleging that the State Sole Administrator, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, has summoned suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Dr. Ngozi Ordu, for an inquiry.

An official who spoke anonymously on Tuesday, dismissed the claims as entirely false, clarifying that no such directive was issued by the state administrator.

“The statement is fake,” the official told newsmen. “There is no truth to the claim that the governor or his deputy has been asked to appear before the Sole Administrator regarding appointments made over the past two years.”

The viral statement, which began making rounds on various social media platforms earlier this week, claimed that Fubara and Ordu were being investigated over a series of administrative decisions during their time in office.

The Rivers State government urged the public to disregard the false report and refrain from spreading unverified information that could stir confusion or tension within the state.
