Rivers State Head of Service Resigns, New SSG Appointed

Dr George Nwaeke, the Head of the Rivers State Civil Service, has resigned from his position.

The resignation, which follows his service under the suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara, was confirmed in a statement released by the Chief of Staff to the Sole Administrator on Tuesday morning.

Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, expressed gratitude to Nwaeke for his contributions during his brief tenure. He wished the outgoing official success in his future endeavours.

The statement issued by Ibas’ office read: “The office of His Excellency, the Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral (retd.) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas CFR, is saddened to announce the resignation of the Head of Service, Rivers State, Dr George Nwaeke, FCA, Mni”

Following this development, Ibas appointed Professor Ibibi Worika as the new Secretary to the Rivers State Government (SSG).
