Rivers state assembly gives Fubara 48 hours to present budget

The Rivers State House of Assembly has given Governor Sim Fubara a 48-hour ultimatum to present the 2025 budget to the legislature.

The directive was issued during a plenary session held in Port Harcourt on Monday.

Warri Sentinel gathered that security forces, including personnel from the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force, were deployed in large numbers to secure the Assembly Quarters, the venue of the sitting.

A visible presence of armed security officers was stationed at strategic points around the complex on Monday morning.

The increased security follows a recent Supreme Court ruling in favour of Speaker Amaewhule and his colleagues.
