PDP Governors Intervenes in Party Crisis, Urges NEC Meeting
State Governors on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have intervened in the ongoing leadership crisis rocking the party, calling on the National Working Committee (NWC) to convene a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on March 13, 2025.
The call was made following a meeting of the PDP Governors’ Forum which held in Asaba, Delta State.
In a statement, the Forum’s Chairman, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, expressed the Forum’s support for the recent Court of Appeal judgment concerning the disputed position of National Secretary. He urged the NWC to expedite the implementation of the ruling.
The Forum also advised the NWC to reschedule the NEC meeting for March 13, 2025, after reviewing the legal requirements for convening the meeting.
The governors praised their colleagues for implementing policies aimed at improving the well-being of their citizens and creating a foundation for sustainable development. They also commended Nigeria’s security agencies for their efforts in combating banditry, though they expressed concern over the resurgence of non-state actors. The Forum called for a strengthened security architecture to address these threats.
