OML 150 Forum: Hoodlums Attack Prominent Warri Chief, Billy Besigiwa

Machete-wielding hoodlums invaded the Ubeji residence of popular Warri Chief, Billy Besigiwa alias Ogbogenijebu, ransacking his house and destroying properties worth millions of Naira. The hoodlums also proceeded to the Ugbuwangue residence of one Mr. Johnson Onire ransacking and destroying his property.

This Warri Sentinel Reporter has been monitoring the situation since yesterday when some macheté-wielding youths allegedly loyal to the Monday Agbeyi-led OML 150 Forum stormed Obodo Flow station, Ubiro, yesterday Monday June 10, 2024 in protest.

In an amateur video clip sent to Warri Sentinel, an unidentified frightened woman was heard shouting at the macheté-wielding protesting youths accusing them of been sent to come attack them at the flow station. Some of the protesters were identified by one Etsekpinmi Anthony as Mr. Monday Omagbemi aka Awanibo, Mr. Francis Nami aka Apupu, Omatie Obiri aka Ologbo, Emmanuel Sillo etc.

They arrived in 5 speedboats to the facilities. Although men of the Nigerian Army were on ground to monitor the protest, eye witnesses say they were only protecting the oil facility operated by Consolidated Oil PLC (Conoil). As at the time of writing this report, no harm was recorded on anyone.

The controversy is not unconnected with the OML 150 Forum to Conoil PLC where both Mr. Monday Agbeyi, (chairman of Forum) and Chief Billy Besigiwa are prominent stakeholders. Seven Warri South communities viz: Obodo, Omadino, Ifiekporo, Aja Osolo, Uwaekano, Jaluwa-Efueye and Ewekwara (in Orugbo) constitute the forum.
