WORLD CUP QUALIFIER: NIGERIA, SOUTH AFRICA PLAY 1-1 DRAW
The Super Eagles of Nigeria failed to take all three points against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa at home in Uyo, the Akwa-Ibom state capital.
In a pulsating match monitored by Warri Sentinel between Nigeria and South Africa tonight, both nations scored one goal apiece in both halves respectively to share the points in their 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match.
Themba Zwane scored for South Africa in the first half while Fisayo Dele-Bashiru scored in the 46th minute early into the second half to put Nigeria back into the match.
However, Nigeria failed to win the match in their third time of asking in their Group C as the Super Eagles have three points from three matches leaving their World Cup campaign hopes in danger.
Nigeria must now win their remaining matches to get any chance of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup in North America.
