President Tinubu Intervenes to Resolve Warri Ward Dispute Amid Rising Ethnic Tensions
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has intervened in the ongoing Warri Federal Constituency ward delineation exercise in Abuja, following concerns from community stakeholders over the process.
The intervention comes after the stakeholders held a meeting with Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in Asaba few days ago before traveling to the nation’s capital for a stakeholders meeting with the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Governor Oborevwori expressed profound gratitude to the president for his decisive role, saying, “I wish to express my profound gratitude to Mr President for his decisive intervention in resolving the Warri Federal Constituency ward delineation matter.”
He also commended the leaders and stakeholders who accepted the terms of settlement, noting their commitment to “peace, justice, and unity.”
The governor called on all residents to strengthen bonds of brotherhood and work collectively for the state’s peace, stability, and development. “Above all, we give thanks to Almighty God for His grace, guidance and mercy throughout this process,” he added, emphasizing that unity and cooperation would ensure harmonious coexistence for present and future generations.
The intervention by President Tinubu marks a significant step in addressing the concerns surrounding the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) ward delineation exercise, which had been a source of intense discussion among political and community leaders in the Warri Federal Constituency.
