IGC Defends Track Record, Questions Credibility of Rival Group in Warri South West

The Itsekiri Grassroot Coalition (IGC) has defended its activities and relevance in Warri South West, pushing back against criticisms while raising concerns about the credibility of the Warri South West Unity and Development Group.

In a statement issued by its Coordinator, Ben Eyitemi Eburajolo, the coalition noted that it has operated for over four years, maintaining consistent grassroots engagement across units, wards, and local government areas. The group added that it played an active role during the last general elections through extensive market-to-market campaigns, with records available for verification.

The IGC maintained that its members are focused on community-based political participation rather than social media influence, stressing that its structure is built on grassroots politicians with established credibility. It also challenged the Warri South West Unity and Development Group to provide proof of sustained meetings and tangible community involvement, questioning its visibility within the area.

The coalition further raised concerns over what it sees as a gap in development within Warri South West, noting that performance in office should translate into measurable progress for constituents. It called for greater accountability and a shift toward improved governance.

Reaffirming its political stance, the IGC pledged continued support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Sheriff Oborevwori ahead of the 2027 elections.
