Tinubu Orders Security Overhaul After Jos Killings, Kaduna Abductions
President Bola Tinubu has ordered a renewed push for proactive security measures following deadly attacks in Jos, Plateau State, and the abduction of wedding guests in Kahir village, Kaduna State. He called on security agencies to act swiftly on intelligence to prevent further violence, stressing that protecting lives must remain a top priority.
In a statement released by his aide, Bayo Onanuga, the president condemned the killings and kidnappings, vowing that those behind the attacks would be brought to justice. He warned that targeting vulnerable communities is often aimed at igniting retaliatory violence and destabilizing affected areas.
Tinubu also directed security forces to intensify efforts to track down suspects and counter the spread of false information that could heighten tensions. He urged the media to report responsibly and avoid narratives that could deepen divisions, noting that authorities are actively working to restore calm.
While calling for the immediate rescue of those still in captivity, the president commended Caleb Mutfwang and Uba Sani for their response efforts. He assured residents of continued federal support and disclosed plans to strengthen security operations with advanced technology to combat crime more effectively.
