Mutilated Body Of Missing Motorcyclist Found In Ughelli, Suspects Apprehended
The corpse of a missing commercial motorcyclist, identified as Nasiru Eneojo, has been found in a well in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The victim’s remains were reportedly found on July 10, 2024 in a well at an abandoned filling station along Agbarho-Ughelli Road with some of his body parts missing.
A source alleged that local vigilantes in Agbarho murdered the victim, removed his body parts and stole his motorbike.
The source said a suspect was arrested after some residents who knew the deceased’s motorcycle, sighted it with the new rider and alerted the police immediately.
According to the source, after interrogation by the police, the rider disclosed that he had no link to Eneojo’s death but the motorcycle was handed over to him by a Delta Taskforce officer.
The source said, “This incident happened at Agbarho, a town under Ughelli North in Delta State. The local vigilantes of Agbarho murdered a bike rider from Kogi State, who was a new motorbike rider in the town.
“After murdering the guy, they dumped his body in a soakaway at an abandoned filling station along Agbarho-Ughelli Road with some of his body parts missing.
“They stole the bike but luck ran out on the guy who stole the bike. When the guy who brought the bike rider from Kogi spotted the bike at Orido junction at Agbarho, he called for help. The new rider was taken to the police station in Agbarho but the police are unwilling to arrest the other suspect whom he said was involved.”
“Several chiefs in the community have gone to seek bail for the suspect but a soldier from Kogi insisted that the bail should not to be granted and for the case to be transferred to Asaba. The case was transferred to Asaba yesterday (Monday),” the source added.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe confirmed the incident to newsmen on Tuesday, stating that three suspects connected with his death have been arrested.
