Delta Court Sentences Man to 20 Years for Raping Four-Year-Old Stepdaughter
A Delta State High Court sitting in Isiokolo has sentenced a 54-year-old man, Samson Nagboje, to 20 years’ imprisonment for raping his four-year-old stepdaughter.
Justice O. Aforkeya of the High Court’s Isiokolo Judicial Division delivered the conviction on June 19, 2026, after finding the defendant guilty of the offence.
The prosecution, led by Miss Phoebian Onomakpome, an Assistant Director in the Delta State Ministry of Justice, told the court that the incident occurred on May 14, 2020, at Eloh Compound, Ovu, in Ethiope East Local Government Area.
According to the prosecution, Nagboje raped his four-year-old stepdaughter, an act contrary to the Nigerian constitution.
The defendant was arrested by the police following the incident and was arraigned before the court on June 8, 2020.
After the conclusion of the trial, Justice Aforkeya found him guilty and sentenced him to 20 years’ imprisonment.
