Flood Claims Life of Commercial Motorcyclist in Agbor

A commercial motorcyclist has lost his life after he was swept away by floodwaters in Agbor, the headquarters of Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The tragic incident occurred on Wednesday night along Imudia Street following a heavy downpour that lasted from about 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

According to sources, the rider had parked his motorcycle beside a concrete drainage channel and sought shelter in a nearby makeshift shop as the rain became more intense. However, the motorcycle was later carried away by the fast-moving floodwaters.

In an attempt to recover the motorcycle, the rider reportedly entered the drainage but was also swept away by the strong current. His body was later recovered by residents.

The prolonged rainfall caused severe flooding across parts of Agbor, with overflowing drains and powerful currents inundating several streets.
