Usiefrun Residents Battle Two-Year Flooding Crisis After Flyover Construction
Residents living in the Usiefrun area of Ughelli in Ughelli South LGA, Delta State, are struggling with serious flooding after a heavy rainfall.
A resident explained that the flooding, which has been happening for the past two years, became worse after Julius Berger built a railroad flyover in the area.
“Julius Berger did the flyover and destroyed the existing drainage. We have suffered from the flooding last year and this year.”
The flooding has caused significant discomfort, with some residents considering relocating. “I am even looking for money to buy land elsewhere to start building a personal house,” another resident said highlighting the desperation of those affected.
An I-Report video sent to Warri Sentinel shows all areas along Usiefrun Road have been impacted, leaving many in the community pleading for a swift intervention to address the drainage problem before the situation worsens further.
