Three killed Over Foiled Kidnap Attempt on Lawmaker’s Wife -Delta Police
Delta State Police Command has confirmed the killing of three suspected kidnappers involved in an attempt to abduct the wife of Hon. Augustine Uroye, a member of the Delta State House of Assembly representing Warri South Constituency 1.
The incident, which took place in Effurun, Uvwie, last month, resulted in the deaths of two mobile policemen and Mrs. Uroye’s driver.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, announced on Sunday that the kidnappers died from injuries sustained in a shootout with police officers during a raid on their hideout in Agbarho town on October 3, 2024. The operation was led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ebrumede in Uvwie. During the raid, police recovered four AK47 rifles from the suspects.
The police reiterated their commitment to combating crime and urged residents to continue providing information that could assist in maintaining security in the state.
