Eight Firms Set to Begin Operations at Kwale Free Trade Zone -Oborevwori

Eight companies are ready to begin operations at the Kwale Free Trade Zone (KFTZ), Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori announced during the project’s groundbreaking ceremony in Ndokwa West Local Council. He said the project is a key milestone in advancing industrial development, encouraging investment, and creating job opportunities throughout the state.

Oborevwori explained that the KFTZ is a central part of the Delta Special Economic Zone Project, designed to make Kwale a hub for energy, petrochemicals, agro-processing, logistics, and manufacturing. He revealed that two firms have already received operating licenses, three have been approved, and three others are in the final stage of approval.

The governor also confirmed that the state had invested over ₦3 billion in Delta Wires Industries, the first company to begin operations within the zone. The firm will produce conductors, cables, and gas cylinders for both LPG and CNG markets. He assured investors of the state government’s support through infrastructure, security, and a stable business environment.

Oborevwori further warned against encroachment on government-acquired land, noting that full compensation had been paid for 1,000 hectares. Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme said the zone would transform Ndokwa’s economy, create thousands of jobs, and improve power supply as some companies plan to generate electricity for the area.
