Dangote Refinery to Supply Petrol Directly to Filling Stations Nationwide

The Dangote Refinery has announced that from Monday it will begin direct delivery of petrol to filling stations across Nigeria, with lower pump prices.

The company said the depot price has been set at ₦820 per litre, while consumers in Lagos and the South-West will pay ₦841, and those in Abuja, Rivers, Delta, Edo and Kwara will pay ₦851. Distribution will first cover those regions before expanding nationwide.

Dangote said deliveries will use trucks powered by compressed natural gas, which it claims will save the economy over ₦1.8 trillion annually by cutting transport costs. It expects the initiative to ease inflation and benefit more than 40 million small businesses.

The refinery is investing ₦720bn in the project and urged fuel station operators to register for free delivery. It says the scheme will also create new jobs and revive many dormant filling stations.
